Hmmmm - IF your TR was parked on a hill - front up, tail
down, could the cylinders be filled with a fluid? On a carb car I would
say fuel - but not on an FI 90 TR. I don't think. I had a Porsche
that hydro locked on fuel. Did I think that? Oh
noooOOOOOOooooo. Thought it was the starter, battery whatever. SO I
put car in reverse, key on, in reverse, clutch in - get rolling and POP the
clutch. Thud thud thwak. Hmmmmm, that's not supposed to
happen. Bent a rod, my my. Expensive lesson.

Subject: [Ferrari] Help, Testarossa won't
start
My 90 Testarossa was running fine. Left it at
body shop for some paint work. Three month later they are going to start it
and it just "clicks" but neither starter nor motor will turn. The shop then
tries to charge battery with no result and they call me. I figure new battery
and buy and put one in. Same click, click and nothing. I next think
starter motor so I remove it and take it to the rebuilder who tells me it
works perfectly on the bench. He also checks solenoid and is fine. Then I
check all electrical connections in engine bay and everything is plugged in.
All fluids including gas are topped. Nothing but a click, click sound with no
result. All accessories, lights and bells work. (has radio delete from
factory).
Does anyone out there please have any suggestions
as to what I should check next or as to what the problem may be. I would be
most grateful for any help. I am a halfway decent basic, backyard mechanic but
the electrical stuff always stomps me. I am also afraid the workers may have
burnt something out when they "repeatedly" tried to start it with an external
charger.
Thanks,
