Michael,

The problem was the energy crisis, 2 mile gas lines the gt4 was the only ferrari imported into the US then and it was the price of a new home. Even though you and I know the Dino
story the masses were as dumb as they are now. Actually the 308 GTB was planned to be a Dino and there are pics of prototype with the Dino logo. From a selling point the cars that came after were all Ferrari's.
The rest of the updates were simillar to many other cars. AC stuff, exhaust changes, sealing around doors, gasket on door vanity light. etc. There were alot of cars and they needed to move them.

The GT4 is still followed by all this BS even to this day. It is twice the car a 246 is (looks notwithstanding and was made to go head to head with the 911 but at what 1/8 the price. go figure.

Enzo liked it and so do I

That's plain silly - did the 246 or the 206 SP need such a bulletin to sell?  LOL....

Call me a purist, but the whole point of the car name was to present to the world a fitting tribute to a father's love for his son....if people don't 'get' that, I feel sorry for them.  Makes for a reverent story for the curious.  Wear that Dino badge with pride, my friend....its the way Enzo wanted it.

actually in march of 1975 the Ferrari factory sent out a bulletin (if anyone wants it I have it and copies i provided are all over online) telling dealers to switch badges and many other upgrades.
My car came as a dino and was rebadged at the dealer before sale. I like the dino emblem however i am trying to keep my car as original as I can....

Cool stuff.....wish I could add to the list. :)

Been wanting to ask this question for awhile and now you reminded me....who here prefers to eliminate ferrari badges from their 308 gt/4s?

I know at a certain point they were heavily prevalent, but early on there were no ferrari badges.

It's not thinking the gt/4 isn't "good enough" to have the Ferrari name on it....I just think it's cooler in a car guy way to have the dino badges instead.

It was quite the unique car in many regards and the name would help as well.

ps - If there's stuff on the motor I'd leave it alone....just exterior and interior (e.g. steering wheel).
