Yer tellin' me? They had a crew of 5 people at all times plus an engine crew.

F1 G forces - somewhere read that F1 drivers are subjected for the duration of the race between 2 and 4.5 G's most of the time. 2 acceleration, 4.5 braking 2-3 cornering and done in 150 degree heat. Not uncommon to get a heart rate which spikes 200 beats per minute.

Of course Clyde - compared to a fighter pilot - you know these are pantywaist numbers where you can experience black outs, red outs, and just plain get trashed in your office. All in a days work, eh?

Ahhh c'mon Clyde - how about the old family McLaren Mark 8B with two seats?
Doesn't that qualify for a family car?

I'm not sure driving a modern F1 car is really that much more
dangerous than driving the family minivan to WalMart...

Could it be that he's back in it just for the love of competition/driving?
At this stage of his life, it's hard for me to believe he'd put his life
on
the line just for money....

Just wondering...
