Yes I have a 308 GTSi the bottom of the 308's performance wise.

I chose that model for ease of maitenace (prior to my buying it I had a 30X40 garage built with 12 foot clearance, installed a lift).
FI did not want carbs, and did not want points.

I live in rural KS, no Ferrari dealer near (used the dealer in Orlando, FL to arrange my factory tour).

Performace is not a concern for me, mantenance is.

Fellippe was makeing a point initially $30k deal. To me the 348 is not an option or any of the newer Ferrari with the electronics
that have gone from basic to you have to have dealer's equipment to maintain.

Then Fellippe came back with the $70k question, that brought performance into the equation.

I just would not like to see Fellippe buying something he could not afford to maintain, or if the $70k end. In todays market
there are better options than a 348 in my opinion.

"there is the performance"

Stephen, don't you have a 308?

Clearly, performance isn't everything.

348s are great performers...not much torque but nice 300BHP top end. Handling and braking are excellent...very impressive performance once they are setup properly.

Clyde thinks they suck but everyone has their own opinions and experiences.

Almost all that are being regularly driven currently are sorted out. I had one for almost two years and it was a great daily driver.

What I am saying is NO to a 348 period. Aside from the maintenance, there is the performance, even Luca di Monezemolo was not happy with his. So money is not the only issue.

Guys,

So you're saying you'd rather spend $70k on a "mint" 348 or 80k on a 355? LOL.

If you're willing to put in the money, you can at least be rest assured you're doing it right yourself instead of relying on a more expensive car's maintenance history.

Buy that car - then SERVICE it.....see how that 'get-in-cheap' investment pans-out.  Not well, I'm afraid.
