Hi Mike and Stephen -Man, I'm glad I don't have any young children to explain what "atrocity" means. I hope your 7 yr old comes to grips with it without difficulty.
It's sad they didn't explain what happened to the fireman - we lost so many that day and to hear and see one saying he's "going in" really puts a meaning on what it means to be a fireman or other rescue worker who enters a building without knowing if it's safe.
I still see the 2nd plane hitting Tower 2 - and like many others, I knew no one personally who was murdered that day but when the debris started falling and the news told that it was mixed with people falling and umping - I will never get that vision out of my head. Now I have a good idea what it felt like to be near Pearl Harbor when it was being attacked.
I may be wrong, but we seem to have lost the anger we felt immediately after the attack on the towers. I know we shouldn't be angry forever but we need a commitment to right a terrible wrong. But I guess when those with the most direct responsibility died during the attack it removes a lot of options. Invading Afghanistan and Iraq seem like a misdirected response although I believe intelligence at the time was flawed.
It's probably better to talk about Ferrari's.... ;-) Ya'll have a nice week - LarryT "In God We Trust" From: Mike Fleischer Sent: Saturday, September 11, 2010 10:23 PM To: Larry Turner Cc: The FerrariList Subject: Re: [Ferrari] Remembering 9/11 No kidding Larry!Watching that is horrible. I had to explain what happened to my son (7) about what happened this morning because he saw the replay of the CNN newscast. I don't think he comprehends what happened or the pure evil of the people who carried it out, and I am thankful he still doesn't, and hopeful he will never see its like in his lifetime.
I spent the day watching an air show and then playing Call of Duty 4. Shooting virtual terrorists in the middle east, very therapeutic.

I couldn't agree more - and I *still* cannot stand to watch the airplane hitting tower 2. I have to turn away. The various TV programmers seem to feel we want to *see* thousands of people being killed over and over and over. Its hard to even think about. Many of those people died quickly, but a great many also suffered greatly.
I just can't understand how people can follow a religion that demands they do such things.
But we don't want to discuss such stuff here --

Did I miss something?? Thx LarryT I believe he's reposting his actual 9/11/01 message as it was happening...Can't believe we're only a year away from the 10th anniversary....man how time flies.
BTW, I remember someone on here was requesting a roll call of all NYers and so I said that I was ok along with my dad who happened to work down there. Still to this day, we're both on some 9/11 survivor registry because someone on here put that up there...haha.
