the MONSTER under the bed!

everyone who owns a Ferrari is always worried about the metal noise that will send a bone chilling feeling thru them!

It will scare them like the monster underneath the bed they had has a kid!

It is there we know it but no one can find it until it strikes!

I recently had this feeling on my 512 TR.

I just replaced the rear tires and all was good.

I drove the car for a check out and when I made a right turn at around 30 mph there was this “TICK TICK  one to one” noise only when I made a right turn and even if I made the turn with no power on the drive train it was there.

Well right there I say to my self “ my vacation to St Barth goes out the window”!

I thought the worst, rear end going south, drive shaft bearings,CV joints, you name it, but it had $15k all over it!

Jacked the car up for a visual inspection.

There was nothing, all bolts there but I saw something funny on the  left rear tire

The inner fender which is fiberglass( hmm 458 ?) was rubbing on the inside of the tire ever so slightly.

I was able to pry it away from the tire fully knowing that this was not the culprit, but it did make sense that it would rub ever so slightly when I made right turns, hmm.

But alas low an behold it was !

Hallelujah  my trip to St Barth is still on!

Wew that was close!

But the monster is still out there!
