What's the latest bad ass battery to get?

I've heard that Optimas have long since gone down hill. In fact, I have one that
I bought in 2000 that is running strong. But I understand that those days are
over.

Beyond the boat anchor Interstates, is there another super duty, long lasting
lightweight battery out there?

I understand that the above description may not be possible from a technical
standpoint but it's fun to dream.

I'd say Stinger SP1700 would be the ticket.

I've used two separate ones for several years now for hardcore car audio and they worked great.

However recently I had to get a new battery (Optima yellow) because my Stinger was failing and no longer holding charge for more than a day or so. The reason for that was my fault...unfortunately in the last 2 months I've accidentally subjected it to torture no battery should have to endure:

1) left the lights on while watching "The Town" at the movies.....and still got it to start afterwards! I never heard a car more barely start before than that time, but it managed. I then proceeded to drive for about an hour straight to make him feel better.

2) left the lights on while inside the house....an hour max and again same result as 1.

Messed up stuff as the lights normally will not stay on without the key in, when set to AUTO. Weird freaky shit must have happened to get them back on and/or I didn't notice them on. :(

Combine that with numerous 30-40 minute engine off listening sessions, and it's hard to beat it.

$350 and it's a beast...longer and heavier than most batteries.
