I would try the relays first. If it doesn't work, check the diodes in the motor assembly.

Here's a thread in the Portuguese section of FChat. You won't understand a word but the pictures are worth something! Total cost for the repair: 10 cents. It is a Testarossa but the procedure is the same.

My left headlight motor goes up and down about 6-7 times before setting itself up when I turn the lights on. It has been doing this for 9 years. Just before I stored it for winter last week, it never stopped going up and down. Lucky me I was getting into the garage when I decided to test it. It did this even when I turned the engine off for at least a few more times. I guess that means I was lucky for 9 years and it's time to get another one.
