They're not immune to failure, but it could be that the speed
monitor is using a newer technology. There are some on I-5
around Lake Shasta that will not register on a V1. I called
Valentine about it. They knew what it was and assured me
that this technology is not being used for traffic enforcement.
How this new technology works was explained to me, but,
alas, I think the last several night's beers seemed to have
erased those brain cells......
