The major problem when buying a 512 is that you cant see into the transaxle,

And it’s the most important part of the car

Steve had to have his drive spline replaced because the guy who owned the car before him abused the car and he got off lucky

That why I am into this car right now!

The tranny in the 512 is the same one in the BB that was built in the 70’s

They only upgraded the tranny in the 512M

When it's all said and done I'd have to say the 512 TR is my favorite all around Ferrari.

This means putting exterior looks, interior, power, engine sound, handling, mystique, a mix of modern and old, usability, comfort, GTness and then factor in the price, there is no peer I think.

The 512 has stood the test of time very well.....not bad for a car I initially hated. :)
