I remember the FCA National meet in Atlanta that Lashdeep and I last minute drove down and snuck in on track day. Marc let me ride with him on one of his track days in his black TR and I got him black flagged because I was holding my video camera and one of the marshals saw it. Then Bart Durham was going to take Lashdeep out on a track run but he got bumped by a handicapped kid, so Bart (who Lashdeep and I had never met, at least I hadn't...) tossed us the keys and we took his 355 out on the streets for a little spin (as long as we were back in time for his next track run with the kid).

 

Oh yeah, the same meet, I got a note on my euro 308's windshield from someone who wanted info on it because they loved the looks of it. If I remember correctly, that was Tim Fulmer, another former list-member.

Joined in 95 or 96, a year or so before I bought my TR. The list was invaluable in educating me since this was way before FChat or other web-based boards.

 

There are plenty of names I miss seeing - Ric Rainbolt, Rick Lindsay, Ian & Claudia Poertner, Monty Meersma, Aldo "Olive Oil" Vanini, and of course Marc Kilburn, who tossed me the keys to his TR less than 30 seconds after our first face-to-face meeting and then subsequently didn't panic when I nearly creamed the US Mail truck that cut us off while doing 90 in front of Chateau Elan in Atlanta.

 

I've met listers all over the country and in a few foreign countries. The Hallett list gathering / track event is still one of my favorites ever, and then Euro Hallett a couple of years later cemented relationships with many. There are quite a few other former listers that I keep in touch with off the list.

 

I'm not sure we tell Steve Cook often enough how much we appreciate his efforts over the years. Many of my best friends developed because of the list and my life is much richer for its existence.
