What's the ideal distance between the fans and the
radiator ?
I've taken the condenser out (my post back in
december was that it would help air flow considerably, plus I had never used the
ac in 9 years, the condenser was really beaten up, lots and lots of flat blades)
during the winter, cleaned the radiator and painted it, painted the frame around
and under the radiator, etc.
After putting back the radiator, without the
condenser, I noticed I can't push my fans in their brackets any closer than 1
1/2" to the radiator. The wires connecting the fan motors are at the back of the
motors and are touching the edge of the brackets. So, I can't go any further.
Even if I could I think the fan motors would fall off toward the radiator. With
the condenser in, the fans were 1/8" close the condenser. Now without the
condenser, I was able to push the fans toward the radiator, my guess is I gained
1/4", but they LOOK far even at 1 1/2".
Is that enough ?
Thank you!
