Doug, how many slides do you have?

Unless it is A LOT OF THEM, you are better to find a local shop with
a scanner and pay them some $$$.

A *good* scanner is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Even a decent slide scanner is $$$$$
