Doug, It depends on what you like - Scotch comes from different regions in Scotland, and they have different styles. It's like saying "beef" - some people like ribeyes (yes, please) some like tenderloins (Lisa). Islay sourced SMS are "smoky" from the peat fires used. Laphroaig 15 year is perfectly good example (and IMHO one of the best Islays) I'm a fan of Speysides, a part of the Scottish Highlands. The Macallan in 12 and 18 year are both good. The 25 y/o is absolutely superb. Best way to find out what you like is to sample a few with some good friends. :) Jim PS: A wee nip of the 25 y/o Macallan neat, and a (looks left and then looks right) cuban Montecristo cigar made good mates.
