I asked Freeman what drives the design of a concept car and where do you
start?

He said - Nature drives the design and you start at the foot box = as the
size of the wheel and tire determine the size.

Freeman also fought for the vestigial TT back seat - why? Just 'cause it
looked like a Porsche Speedster.

The new BUG was concept car and was based on a sitting (?) rabbit.
Politically, because Freeman and crew [and his boss J May] didn't work for
VW design which was in the same building, the car was NEVER, NO, NIEN, NYET,
NO, Uh-huh gonna be a VW. Piech, head of Audi at the time, knew what he was
doing - he went all-in and won.
