Hi Yaâll,
I was browsing the available channels on Comcast Cable
(I donât subscribe to all of them) and the #âs start at 02 and go all the way to
989 or so. Lots are duplications â there must be 10 or 20 MLB
channels and 10 NBA channels, Hockey, B âBall, etc. â there are a LOT of
channels I would not watch even if I did want to spend the money for the
packages. Thereâs some networks that seem to be dedicated to
presenting some truly bizarre programming (IMHO).
The thing that I thought odd was in all of those
channels there was Speed several times (2 Speed HD for some unknown reason) and
several other âextremeâ sport channels but I never saw anything that even
remotely looked like the original SpeedVision â which had a lot of programs
featuring Porsche and Ferrari â the kind of programming not seen
elsewhere.
At the time when SV was bought (gobbled up?) by that
âotherâ network, I thought SV must have been doing something right to attract a
buyer willing to pay what I thought was a decent price. And yet not
a single other network has stepped up to produce anything resembling the old
SV.
Is there a reason why someone would not want to
replicate what I believe was a profitable format that Iâm not seeing?
Have a nice week --
