I don't know anything about the 308s, but on the TR (similar vintage), when the headlights are raised, there are two very small philips head screws on the sides of each headlight assembly. You remove those two screws and the trim bezel in front of the lights comes out the front. Then you can see all the hardware that retains the bulbs and adjusts their aim.

Yes, I did raise the lamps, then removed the battery cable leaving the lamps up.  I removed the top cover (noted that the left one has a big “R” written on the bottom, while the right has a big “L” – ahem).

You would think it would be easy… but the only screws accessible from the front are the two alignment screws.  There are the usual screws holding the headlamp bezel against the headlamp, but there is no access to them.  Am I missing something?  Is it a Euro model thing?  This is an early steel 308, maybe they changed the assembly?

I recall starting the car, turning the headlights 'on', then shutting-off the car to keep the headlights in the 'up' position.  You could use the manual knob under the fender grills, but starting the car was easier.

The four screws in the front edges of the headlamp adjusted windage and elevation of the headlight - you will need to align the new beam when you're done.  Once the light is 'up', change-out is much easier.

OK, I’m stumped.  I’ve got a nice relay kit for my308’s headlamps.  Seems to work fine.

I also bought new Hella headlamps, but for the life of me can’t figure out how to replace them.  It looks there is a heavy bracket holding the headlamp that is attached to the whole assembly by four screws that are blocked by the fender, which makes me think I have to remove the two pivot bolts for the headlamp assembly.  Looks like I have to remove the fender to get to those bolts loose.

There are also three bolts on the back of the headlamp assembly.  I’m going to try loosening those to see if that releases the lamp.

Any help would be appreciated.
