I'm surprised that "started first turn of the key" wasn't a tipoff for the judges that something wasn't original!  :)

Personally, I have no problem with safety and performance upgrades, but think that the look of originality is important.  Once hid an MSD ignition inside the distributor casing on a Miura.  From the outside, it looked stock, but was a modern, high-power electronic ignition.  Never lost a point to any judges, and started first turn of the key.

Don't you think some things are good and kosher to "upgrade", like the ignition system or spark plugs?

I read about how a '60s vette is considered more "pure" with overspray than without, and I hate that logic. :)
