I agree with Carl that the AFR is unlikely to be 30.20 â the Stoichiometric ratio for Gasoline 15.1:1 (Air:Fuel).

(Note: Stoichiometric is the ideal AFR and varies with the type of fuel.)  now THEREâS a great word for Scrabble!

Some cars like to run rich and some like to run lean â otherwise itâd be relatively easy to set things to 15.1:1 and be done with it.  When trying to set up my new EFI system it became mostly a âseat of my pantsâ type thing. Of course, people were adjusting AFRs for many years before electronic gadgetry came along.  Winking smile

There is a rogue figure in there, that afr at 30.20.  At a 30.20:1 ratio the car wouldn't run as it would be way too lean to fire, I would expect to see somewhere around 14 or so. Clearly a USA specification car, no way a Euro 308 would get the CO down to 0.87!!! (%  I assume).  Same with the HC reading.  It's not really telling you anything until we get the AFR (Air fuel ratio) sorted.

Regards,

Carl.

1981 308 GTSi: I had a fuel mixture done on my car and the mechanic even printed a report of it from his little machine. I took it and left without asking him what this was all about. Can anybody explain what this should tell me about my fuel mixture ?
