Hello Adam & group,
A lot of Chinese who work in
Japan complain about shortages but ignore the
health risks for the bigger salaries or earning
opportunities. Most of the Japanese are scared
to death and are sending everyone they can elsewhere.
There is a booming business importing radiation
detectors into Japan. No one in China wants
Japanese food imports. People in China are
suspicious of seafood but the government says it
is OK. Chinese largely ignore risks to crops or
air from fallout, so far. Air quality is preceived
to be bad anyway most places due to industry emissions.
NE China is probably fairly safe due to the cleansing
effect of the winter snowfalls and melt runoff.
In addition lots of farming is done undercover much
of the year because of weather.
A lot of people are taking
"a wait and see" attitude I guess.
Regards
Dale
