They're very social-able, but you can tell when you "hurt their feelings",  This one came from good stock and has no issues.  8th generation police dog whose father had royal protection duties, lucky that we could get it out of Europe...

Problem with Malinois is even AFTER you tell them to stop in German about half the time you have to choke them out to get them to release.  Plus, a large number of them develop seizures later in life when they get a bite, and that can include even eating.  I've known more than a few that had to be put down because anytime they chomped down as they got older they went into seizures... and then when they woke up they'd freak out and bite the first thing they could, and repeat the cycle.  Kinda funny, kinda sad, kinda painful (if you're the one closest to it when it comes to).

Get a Belgian Malinios.  The family pet can clear 7' tall fences and you have to speak German to get him to stop.  Best 900 Euros ever spent!

Get a Doberman

Trained them for years

Way smarter than any long hair German breed

Only thing they cant do is open a door and answer the phone!

And no one in their right mind fucks with Dobermans and they don’t have that hip issue that the Sheppard’s have

Clyde

Who still like cats but are they a pain in the ass or what

You don’t own a cat

It owns you!

Mals are great working dogs, but having worked K9 before and seen first hand how crazy they ALL are, you couldn't pay me to own one in the home.  That's the one great thing about GSDs, they're actually able to turn the crazy on or off depending on whether they're working or not.

There's nothing like a good German Shepherd. As these guys found, they are absolutely infallible in being loyal and brave for their pack. Incredibly noble dog.

My accounting manager used to train Belgian Malanois for the military when she was in the service. The bond of a good team is really hard to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it...
