First memorable sighting..   a Daytona coupe..  that's how I remember the name 
anyway, Insurance salesman in Houston made a big sale and wanted the car 
restored by I guy I knew.  This was Shreveport in the mid 80's, the finish on 
the car was so good that you could read the type of fluorescent bulb in the 
paint.  Yes, really.  My friend didn't like the way the rear window fit so he 
cut the rail out and lowered it by 1/8" or so to make it look better than 
original.  He also showed me some of the less than stellar welding from the 
factory.

My first drive in one was in my 328, from driveway onto trailer..  ;-)
