Most of you don’t  realize this but 40 years ago on Dec 18^th 1972 then President Nixon

Ordered the bombing of North Vietnam which was called Line backer 2

It was because the peace talks were going nowhere and the war needed to end

 

I was there

It ran until 29 Dec with a one day break for Christmas

We called it the 11 days of Christmas, how fitting

Anyway we lost 15 B-52’s an 44 tactical airplanes

And guys died

But the end justified the means in this case

It worked

The war ended

The POW’s came home
