Actually, I found ONE problem.  The idle air bleed locking nuts were loose on 
the left rear carb, and the screws were both loose.  I just hadn't snugged the 
lock-nuts down after the earlier work.  That problem alone could have caused 
the problem.  Personally, I believe there were multiple issues, now addressed.
