and I can't think of another car that I really want to own right now...
Gee I don't see that in the car about it being unreliableThe basics are there I mean my 512 tr has never left me anywhere in 20 yrs and over 97K.I will be the acid case them because I plan to buy one and drive the paint off it!Clyde
Sent from my iPhoneHmmmm – a fair entry price - - for the first round.
BUT, that said, let it NEVER be said if a body has only $60 to $65K in their piggy bank they should rush out and ‘invest’ in a used 550/575. Ho hah alimony breath – you better have another piggy bank with at least 60 to 65k to pay for your first year up keep and differed maintenance.
Oh yeah – that and a Premier AAA card that provides oodles of mileage flat bed towing. But after that - - - you will have a pretty neat touring car and you’ll never be bothered by the hoi poli ogling your ‘Ferrari” cause it don’t look like a Ferrari. Ahhhhhh, nothing like a peaceful drive.

The 550/575 are already there
Pay no more than $60 k
That's the wholesale on the car
You can even see the ruling class on the superamerica getting religion
There are 9 of then for sale now in the US
Can you imagine having paid $500k for a car and cannot get even a paltry $200 K for it now
Talk about Ferrari hype

I'm told it's not all that challenging to turn a humble 599 Berli into something quicker than a 599 GTO (a personal favorite and veritable oasis in the desert of Ferraris in the last so many years ... really back to the '05 Scuderia to find something else on my radar.)
ps. The Guisness Book people are trying to reach you to deliver your award for "most sweeping generalizations" re. FML.

You know not one car has ever sold at the FML Asking price!
Ever !
That's like a guy asking a whore what's the asking price is on leave in the Philippines!
The only thing the FML is good for is locating cars !
And gouging insurance companies after some idiot wrecks and totals his Ferrari and truth be known if the insurance companies did due diligence they wouldn't pay out no where near the inflated FML prices for wrecks
If the dealers and owners were truthful about there purchases the market would be a better place
But alas Ferrari dealers are like rice salesmen on the North Korean Border!
The only way to find out what a Ferrari is worth used from a dealer is to try to sell a similar model to a dealer and see what he will give you for it and that's Gospel!
Case in point look at what 599 are bringing and California's for that matter
You can't give them away
By the way my friends 512tr is on FML it's a steal

I don't see much of a reason to rebuild a 458 when the car is still in production. I expect (and hope), that the remains are parted to at least keep most of the fleet still going. As for the overall prices, don't necessarily think that Ferraris have all of a sudden gone through the roof in value, more that a dollar just doesn't go as far as it did five years ago. Amazing what happens when the printing presses start running at the rev limiter...

Burned Lambo is a late Miura SV. CAn and most definitely will be rebuilt. Current values on SVs are running close to $1M. Even if you had to rebuild from the frame rails up, it would be worth doing.

Hello,
As we discuss possible rises in sales prices for the F40, F50, etc.,
did anyone notice the yahoo news video of the lambo miura sv burning
in the UK? Given the obvious serious damage, do you think that vehicle
could be restored with any hope of ever coming out ahead? I understand
a number of F458s burned too. Were any restored? What is Ferrari's Policy
or attitude on that? I understand several ENZOs have been extensively rebuilt.
Given the common China or Japan attitude about not fixing damaged items,
will we see a parade of damaged units coming west for restoration and new owners?
