I hear ya. Always worth it to go to at least 350 mm, perhaps 320 mm. This 370-380 mm crap does not belong on performance machines!
However, I believe in the grand scheme of things a rack @ 2.0 - 2.5 turns lock to lock and a 350 mm wheel will feel better than putting a 280-300 mm wheel in a car with 3.2 turns. On Fri, May 10, 2013 at 11:24 AM, LS <lashdeep [at] yahoo.com> wrote:
An easier/cheaper experiment is to install a smaller diameter steering wheel.
Still curious as to how it would feel since stability and sensitivity on my '76 (with the OEM bare aluminum spoke Momo) felt slow at regular speeds (below 80mph) but excellent above.

Also, I wonder how much of steering rack speed is liability vs. getting the feel right. Most street cars have more understeer and slower steering than needs to be I think.I'm curious too.Reason to lean towards a faster rack is that the 308 is a smaller/sportier car compared to say a TR/Boxer type where the slower steering for high speed assault seems like a better match.
