Done. Got my online confirmation a minute ago. I'll keep you all posted as to when the tires will arrive here. Should take a week. I was wrong about the currency. Final cost is $2035. canadian free shipping. I'll let you all know what the canadian government will ask for customs.

Thank you all for your help!

No problem, I've got a lot of contact over here, shipping and duty is the only catch. If they can do you a good price they are good people to do business with and with Goodwood and all the proper vintage racing over here they should have good prices based on the volumes they sell. Perhaps they will even give you a discount if you are in the FOC as they advertise in the club magazine often.

Thanks Bar in U.K.,

I was just on their website to check on my 4 Michelin. They gave me a quote of 1,092 pounds with FREE SHIPPING to Canada. That's about $1856. canadian for me.

Can you believe that ?
I just sent them an email asking if that was possible. I hope they answer today. I'll order them right away.

Cheers Bar in U.K.!

If you want tyres in the UK you go to Longstone Classic Tyres. They have these in stock and ship worldwide. I used them to source tyres for my 400i and new rubber completely transformed the car. Give them a try, they are well known and very reliable to deal with.

1981 308 GTSi: I have been shopping for new tires (Michelin TRX 220 55VR 390). They are so bad right now I won't be able to drive it when april comes. No choice.
Basically, Coker has them for about $2200. (shipping and tax included). But I'm afraid customs (I live in Montreal, Canada) will ask for more money. Queenwaytires.com (in Ontario) has them for $500 each plus tax 13% and shipping $100. They could have them in a month. Best price so far.
My other option was to change the rims. I have been told the 16" on 308 QV are the same. Right?
Are all 4 rims the same size front and rear.
I have tried and tried on Ebay (little success but never a full set of 4) and other places, Rutlands, Ricambi, even in Europe. Nobody has a set of 4. To save money I could keep the old spare tire.
Anybody knows a place (in Canada if possible) they have them and ready to ship.

The old Michelin lasted 10 summers from september 2003 to fall 2014 (about 20,000). I'm 55 years old. Let's say the new 16" rims cost me $600 all included (tax/ shipping) but with no tires. In a way I should probably buy those original Michelin tires at $500 each and hope they last me 10 years again.

What do you think ?
Anybody has anything for sale ?

Thank you!
