The size thing I find interesting. I guess I have a poor eye for relative volume, but the first time I parked my TR next to a 360, I couldn’t believe how massive the 360 looked. It was bigger in every dimension, even though the TR looks like “a library table driving down the road.” [Credit Rick Lindsay or Ric Rainbolt for that phrase – can’t remember which]. Last week I had my wife’s Volvo S80 next to my 355 in the warehouse and couldn’t believe their dimensional differences. The 308 just looks like a toy next to most modern cars… From: Erik Nielsen [mailto:judge4re [at] gmail.com] The extra wheelbase really takes out the twitchi-ness that the 308 has, and since my 308 is a GTS, there is a huge difference in torsional rigidity. It really is a great driving car and they got it right. The scary thing is part a Mondial next to a F430, they basically have the same dimesions, the back seat was given up by remounting the engine longitudinally. For the era, it was a solid product. Only other complaint other than the lack of power is the seating position is akward with the bolsters on the bottom cushion. Not a car I want to drive 8 hours in, but a good all around GT car. But if you want a real comfortable GT car, that is what the V12 2+2s are for... No, not massively powerful but the K-Jetronic FI is rock solid and drivability, even from cold, is excellent. Yes, I prefer my 308GTB but for jump-in-and-go, the Mondial wins. I didn't put expensive rubber on the car when I owned it. I just picked the cheapest, most sticky, quiet performance tires TireRack offered at the time. BFGoodrich I believe. Still, I reach my limit before the car reaches its limit. -rick
