Hi Friends,

Long time, no type.

Now that summer is upon us, at least for those of us in the south, lets share our driving and restoring plans. Mine haven't changed because I haven't touched the Testatossa or TR3 in almost a year. That's sad, if not criminal.

I still need to refinish and install the TR3's top sticks. The new top can then be put on at any time. I also have two side curtain mounts to bolt to the passenger door. Sadly, the side curtains are 'as-found', but they are complete. That work would finish the car!

I presently have two cars in the restoration process; a '53 MG TD and a '73 Volvo 1800ES Sport Wagon. The ES is almost done. One uninterrupted weekend in the garage and it could be done - and beautiful. Okay, make that two weekends because the fuel injection needs all new hoses to be reliable (read: safe).

The MG needs reassembly. All the mechanical bits are restored and all body bits are repainted and waiting. Interior is new. Once the Volvo is done...

The Testarossa needs to be driven and that balance pipe needs to be installed between the CPRs. And by all measures, it needs cam belts, just because of age. Otherwise, its a stunning beauty.

Drove the 308GTB to work a couple of times this week. It performed flawlessly, including the A/C.  Wait, "work" you said? Yes, a year after retiring my company called to ask if I would return to consult. I now mentor the new pups about 20 hours a week. Eats into my garage time but pays for car parts.

And (almost) speaking of debt; I'm in the market for a 550 Maranello. Phil Tegtmeier is on the case for me, searching for the right car at the right price. More if/when that happens...

So what have you guys been up to? As you have read, my life is "same clown, different circus." How is yours?

With best regards from the U.S. South Coast,

-rick
