I replaced my tank sensor with an EOM Ferrari sensor in 2001 for $90 and see FChat mentioning that prices at TRutlands are close to U$400. So finding one per Rui at $70, 70¥, 70£, or 70E is a true bargain. Grab it.

The fuel sensor has two electrical functions -
1. Rheostat resistance which varies with tank gas float height
2. Plus a warning switch closes when tank is nearing empty.

IF your float leaks you can diy a fix with a $10 brass part.

Similar sensors requiring some alteration are available but you are chancing less gauge accuracy for a very small savings (IMO) on that ?70e part.

If you insist on making that small savings or wish the diy experience, there are many sensors with the same tank bolt circle, but having different float/float arm lengths. Float arms are easily alterable but the sensor resistance to match your gauge my be a problem.and required since no exact 3x8 replacement sensor has been yet been identified. Not to say one doesn't exist as Ferrari engineers would probably have used and existing rather than started the design from scratch.
