I have the wiring diagram at home but haven't pulled it out yet. When you say "switch" I assume you mean the sender at the bottom of the radiator? I was hoping that when I recently replaced my air horns that perhaps I had knocked a connection loose, but that sender is nowhere close to the horns. With the way that sender works, are you suggesting that it simply "listens" for a certain temperature and then closes the circuit when that temp is reached? Therefore if I short the two spade connectors the fans should come on?
I also wish they'd stay on a bit after the car is shut off, but on my car (again, an 85 euro 308), once the car is off everything is off (except the clock).

Fan not working
There is a temp switch on the bottom of the radiator short it out and see if
the fan works.
I have a switch under the dash that is in parallel with the fan switch when
the temp gets to hot
(radiator temp switch not working) TURN THE SWITCN ON!
Or just replace the temp switch!
