Unlimited racing then and now.

At one time, Indy was limited to engine size (based on various types) but it was run what ya brung.

Top Fuel Dragsters – Run what ya brung and try not to kill yourself or paying spectators – bad for moral.

F1 – engine size and run what ya brung.

 

Now – in the interest of safety and economics – the regs went from a comic book size package to a telephone book.

This morning while waiting for FP2, I read the F1 Sporting Regulations and the F1 Technical Regulations. Before I had only skimmed them or read a specific area of interest.

 

Question: Have the regulations always been this restrictive?
