Erik notes – “Look at what they go for after 5 years, you can't give them away...” And my first sports car race at Santa Barbara in 1961 watching the white and blue Birdcage Maserati. Ohhh wee. How wonderful. Flash forward to Modena, 1999, there was a Maserati opening down the street from Service Motor, the Ferrari store, with champagne and biscuits and fluffy girls. My my. But the grill – oh the grill – oval? Yes. A trident in the center? Yes. BUT WHAT WAS THAT THING HANGING DOWN FROM THE UPPER ARC? From a distance, it smacked of a uvula? Well, I am no designer but that little dip does nothing for me. That’s just me. I do like the rest of the car tho – actually would consider one if they just didn’t brick so bad. Oh well, at my age, it could be the last car I ever buy so who cares. Ah ah ah. Onward DOUG |
