I actually visited the factory in july 2009. Once over there I was told by the guide you had to be an owner and go to a Ferrari dealer for your demand. Then the dealer asks you what are your available dates. They send the information to Ferrari North America and FNA sends you an email confirming the date.

Or you need to be an employe of one of their sponsors/suppliers or something like that.

A friend wants to go on a tour.....he's not an owner.

What's the general advice in trying to book it? He's going to Germany to pick up a Porsche for european delivery and is intending to hit up all of the players in Modena, so it's not exactly a dedicated trip to Maranello.

I figured if you had a hook up at a dealer, you can go without being an owner. Not sure how true that is/was....
