As noted "The CIS injected cars with brittle injection lines are a more likely candidate for an engine fire." Did the factory ever do a RECALL on the brittle CIS fuel lines? TSB's (technical service bulletin) are for dealerships. RECALLs live forever. There is a recall out for the early (or all?) 70's 914 Porsche fuel lines. Seems they ran them under the battery box. Batteries if they got over filled wept acid on the plastic fuel line. This caused a pin hole high pressure fuel leak which caused a car-B-Que. If you have or know someone who has a 914 and the factory fix hasn't been done - Porsche needs to step up to the plate. Even today. I no longer have access to Mitchell On Demand or ALL Data which lists TSB's and I think recalls by the manufacturer. Wonder what's out there for Ferrari's F458? Anybody out there have access to these two technical data bases? DOUG
