Sorry your argument doesn't hold up Carb cars by design are just more prone to fires Period Whether they be Ferrari or US cars Even carbureted airplane engines catch fire As an A&P mechanic and having worked on a plethora of engines I speak from experience The mere fact the a carburetor float can stick and have fuel flood the intake speaks volumes Add ignition and the rest is history Read FIRE! Fuel injection is smarter, economically and safer Clyde Romero
In Victory you deserve Champagne In Defeat You Need It! If you obey all the rules You miss all the fun !
Other than the engine being behind the driver making leaking gas smells less evident than a front engine car, I don't see the carbed 308 any more prone to engine fires than any other carbed car. The CIS injected cars with brittle injection lines are a more likely candidate for an engine fire. ---------- Original Message ----------From: ferrari-request [at] ferrarilist.comTo: Tom Guadagni <tomgua [at] netzero.com>Subject: Ferrari Digest, Vol 99, Issue 7Date: Thu, 02 Oct 2014 08:15:54 -0700Send Ferrari mailing list submissions to ferrari [at] ferrarilist.comTo subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/listinfo/ferrarior, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to ferrari-request [at] ferrarilist.comYou can reach the person managing the list at ferrari-owner [at] ferrarilist.comWhen replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specificthan "Re: Contents of Ferrari digest..."Today's Topics: 1.
