GT an Icon, come on... its namesake GT40, yes. Again today's society bandying labels about a bit too loosely.
GT did miserably in what little racing it did in ALMS, But had one good year in FIA GT3 racing. Hardly comparable to its father's successes.
GT an icon... only if you consider Lady Gaga a diva
GT40 an icon, yes.
I just thought it (GT) was big and felt heavy on the road.
Interior just a bit too cheap for my taste.
For what it was and at its pricepoint... great car.
But what I am amazed at is how the pricing has jumped on the used ones!! Especially the Gulf livery cars that were never driven. Half Mil??!?!? yikes.

Yes, but you are comparing apples and oranges. You are comparing other's hyper-cars to Ferrari daily drivers. I think the Enzo and LaFerrari hold their own with the cars you are mentioning. How many of the makers you mention even make a sub $300k car?Rick, unfortunately I disagree completely with your assessment.The 348 wasn't perfect but the 355 was worse from an engineering standpoint. The 360 was the first car that didn't look like a Ferrari and it just got watered down from there. The first time I heard of a former BMW M3 owner buying a 360, I knew it was over.The 550 and 575 are...soft and boring. I've tried to like them for years but they are just not for me. Lash,I'd disagree... When LdM took over, the current car in the pipeline was the 348... and no offense to their owners but they were pretty poor in both function and build quality. I'd say the cars that came after LdM were a lot better with every iteration. The 355, 360 lineage up to the 458 are pretty solid cars who only suffer from trying to be too advanced for their own good. Same for the 550, 575 and up on that side. Now if you stray away into those cars that were developed to satisfy the FaceBook generation (read FF), yeah there has been a slide. I'd like to see Ferrari cut back on the product line diversity and make a few cars that are just dependable weapons!!I purposely left out the Super/Hyper cars. I believe they stand on their own merit. I just think they need to fire the marketing folks who name them. I mean, seriously.... if I owned a LaFerrari I'd cut the "La" off and patch the hole. And while I'm spewing opinions, the last GTO didn't deserve the moniker either. But what do I know... I just told everyone I have a brain injury! <grin>cLyDe....?????Rick

Ferrari can only get worse...it has been pretty bad since LdM took over.Passion Marques are always best under their namesake or founder. The first buyout after usually leaves a generation of virtuous models due to leftover design and technology. Who else wonders about what the future holds for Ferrari? Not just because LdM has left, but also because of the Fiat/Chrysler merger. Does anyone else think that F/C will destroy the Ferrari name/legacy? Or does *everyone* else think that?Jaguar also had a decade or two of floundering when its founder died in the 80's, but lately seems to be making a pretty strong comeback (if you haven't driven the new F-Type, you should - even if I could afford a new Ferrari, I might actually opt for the new F-Type R Coupe - it's a rocket ship!).Thinking aloud here is all.....gp
