Was watching a re-run of this on TBS this afternoon. At the end Riley gets his beloved 360 Spider back (assume that’s not a spoiler since it’s a 2007 movie). Along the lines of amusing movie mis-cues, I hadn’t noticed when I’d watched it before that when Riley hops in, it’s clearly an F1 transmissioned 360, as evidenced by the steering wheel paddles. However, when he gets in, he is able to start
the car without pulling both paddles for neutral. Then as he’s preparing to pull off the curb, we see him reach down and emulate the movement that a manual shifter would require. Certainly nothing new in movie misinformation, but amused me. I never understand why directors don’t think accuracy matters. It’s not like they got the car on set without using it correctly… |
