rick laments “My Silver Shadow probably has more do-dads than any of my other cars - but they're simple do-dads.” Hoo hah rick – are you referring to the hydraulic suspension? Tho not as much fun as the Citroën SM with its two miles of hydraulic lines and if you ever blow a fan belt - - - ? simply disassemble the top end of the engine to get a new one on to the jack shaft. No doubt about it – in 1972 the French were way, Way, WAY ahead of their contemporaries in do-dads. But on the positive side – if you ever needed to change a tire – you could do it without a jack – tho the car looks like a dog lifting its leg on fire hydrant. Onward – or as Marty McFly might say - - - Back to the Future. DOUG |
