Love holiday days off

Hi Friends,

Yes, I know its not quite Christmas yet but being retired, I have quite a few 'days off'. :-P I'm using mine to cycle through my cars, get them clean and exercised. A nice task.

So far, the Silver Shadow is in fine form. Washed and polished, tire pressures reset, oil level correct, and carb dampers checked/refilled. Add to that a nice bit of driving and the old boy is in fine form.

Yesterday I returned the R-R to storage (Gotta remember to buy a BIG car cover), and brought the E-Type home. It too has now been washed and polished, and has been on the battery charger over night. Today I will check the oil and dampers then prepare for the next car in the sequence. That would typically be the Testarossa but its battery is weak. I'll pull the battery out for an off site charge and drive the 308GTB home for it's attention.

I fear that I may need to replace the Testarossa's starter. It doesn't respond at all if the battery is weak. When Rui was here he noted that it didn't spin the engine very fast, even on a full battery charge. New starters are costly but Bosch remanufactured units are just a tad over $200. I think I'll go that way. So if a full charge on the battery will start the car, I will bring it home and replace the starter (and add that pesky control pressure balance pipe). Otherwise, it will be surgery time at the storage unit!

Took a few pictures with my early Christmas present; a Nikon D610 DSLR. At almost 25 megapixels, the results are stunning. Check out:

I hope to play with the camera again today, taking a few glamor shots of the E-Type. Then on to the unit to play Ferrari. Holidays are fun.

Happy Saturday,
