Like so much else in this world, its a matter of perspective.  We watch F1 for whatever crazy (irrational) things within us draw us to the circus.

I got my first good taste of my irrational lust for go fast machinery while attending Monterey weekend some 15 years ago.   Many of us were sitting around a lounge area talking about the cars we had seen and the racing we were either involved in or watching when one gent's Smokin' Hot Wife approached us to get the room key from her husband.    She snickered at how we going on and on about cars.... childishly...   She stated that she had never seen such carrying on about cars... when from her perspective,..........   wait for it.....  "Cars are merely something to get you to the Jewelery Store!"

Yes, F1 is a goofy business. And as a friend says of my sister-in-law, "Its impossible to gain a rational understanding of something that is irrational." :-P
