-rick asks “. . . , I wonder what automotive restoration/maintenance/building projects may be in your queue. Care to share?”

Why of course.  Still plugging away on the ’78 308 GTS.  I ran across your 300 pictures of your GTB restoration.  Terrific job, and thank you for the pictures.  What I learned about comparing your pictures, -rick, is the 1978 GTB’s and GTS’ are EXACTLY the same - - - - except for the differences – and there are lots of differences, I might add.

So what started this adventure?  I coasted down a backwards hill when the car stalled on a steep drive way and I banged into a brick wall.  >doink<  @#%$#@%^$  not too bad.  Ah well, the car needed a real paint job anyway.  Yeah, it was red but the PO’s red tended to lean towards Campbell Tomato Soup shade when placed next to REAL rossa corsa Ferrari’s.

We stripped it and found - - - - EW – OWWW.  My my.  Rotted doors with patches and bondo, broken hinge pins and - and - and, well, you know.  Pictures (gag) available.  OK – got that taken care of.  Hmmmm – no wonder I didn’t find body work estimates and invoice’s in PO pile of paperwork.  And he seemed so nice.  Just like Carfax – only as good as what was put in it by humans.

So the car’s painted, back and front reassembled and now we are doing the door guts, rubber (try to find THAT!) and window stuff.  After that, rear glass, deck lid screen and a bunch of little things left to do.  Oh yeah, fix the stalling out on hills.

Hope to have it done by the time FCA shuts down Colorado Blvd (beginning of the Rose Parade site) for ‘Concorso Ferrari’ on April 26.

That’s it from Garage Auto di Doug.
