It's foggy because it's made out of plastic, unlike the other gauges which use glass. It's plastic because of the hole needed for the winding stem at the bottom.
To replace the lens, you need to CAREFULLY remove the chrome trim ring which retains the bezel to the gauge body, by GENTLY prying the lower edge, all around. It's very easy to scratch and permanently deform the trim ring if you're not careful. Best to leave it to a professional. anything, I thought I would ask the list first. All my other gauges have
perfectly clear glass.
