Actually, in the 1981 GTSi, the clock is just in front of the stick shift with the oil  temp gauge.

You get the clock out by removing the aluminum panel that holds the rest of the gauges (speed, tach, oil, fuel, etc), which is held onto the dashboard. Behind that aluminum panel, the gauge is held in place by a U-shaped bracket. On my GT4, the aluminum panel has screws on the front face and it's easy enough to remove, but with your GTS, I believe you need to remove the binnacle first and that needs to be done from below. Hopefully those with GTB/GTS cars can explain this better...

Thank you. I'll give it a try next weekend. But by "Best to leave it to a professional" , you mean bringing the whole clock to him. Then how do I get the clock out.

It's foggy because it's made out of plastic, unlike the other gauges which use glass. It's plastic because of the hole needed for the winding stem at the bottom.

To replace the lens, you need to CAREFULLY remove the chrome trim ring which retains the bezel to the gauge body, by GENTLY prying the lower edge, all around. It's very easy to scratch and permanently deform the trim ring if you're not careful. Best to leave it to a professional.

1981 308 GTSi: My clock works perfectly. But the glass cover is very foggy. I find that it's getting worst every year.
Is that easily cleanable ? Removeable ?
How do you get it off the clock ? I didn't try anything, I thought I would ask the list first. All my other gauges have perfectly clear glass.
