I hadn’t heard that about the Greeks, but I do appreciate it. I try to teach my technician’s the same attitude about our systems – it matters what’s in a ceiling, or behind a rack or in a junction box that may
never be opened again. Pride in your work is what you show where you think no one else will look. Sadly, a dying attitude and nearly impossible to teach the millennials we’ve had… From: Ferrari [mailto:ferrari-bounces+charles=carolina-sound.com [at] ferrarilist.com]
On Behalf Of Doug & Terri Beautiful car – beautiful garage Gary. Going back in time early -1950s thru early 60’s – Porsche racing was really involved in the 1500 cc class. Ferrari, Osca, Maserati, Kurtis, Jaguar and all the other big boys played in their own Gonzo Killer
sand box. But Porsche, at that time, was content to be a big fish in the smaller pond.
As with most cars of that era – engines were hand built and tested. Since they were smaller capacity, tolerances made a great difference. Then, every once in a while, all the stuff randomly came thru such that
they produced a motor that was stronger and more powerful than the average bear. These were set aside – they were noted: “Hoch Leistung” – high performance. These engines were placed in factory race cars or sold to noted privateers. The rest is history. So what’s that about? Well, Ferrari for the most part is hand built and as such every once in a while, my personal belief, is a car will come thru that randomly has been built perfectly. Gary – your garage
deserves such a car. Now for the secret - - - did you buy a perfect car and then build the perfect garage? Or did you build the perfect garage and your car appreciates it and gives its owner, in return, a perfect car? If it’s the later – I have a lot of work to do tho Terri would be most happy.
The Greeks, more than several thousand years ago, would paint the inside of cabinets and otherwise finish off areas of a house no one was ever going to see - - - why? Because they believed the Gods knew and
saw and would appreciate the owner more. They just might be some truth to that – thousands of years later. Onward DOUG |
