Hard to teach attitude to a portion of a group that is unable to tell the difference between “there,””their,” and “they’re”

 

In 1900, if a person was fired from a job because they couldn’t square their timbers they stood a good chance of starving.  Today, there are no consequences to being fired OR going to work.

 

I am told it is a pendulum – but sadly even the smartest folks are having a problem defining the pendulum’s amplitude.

I hadn’t heard that about the Greeks, but I do appreciate it. I try to teach my technician’s the same attitude about our systems – it matters what’s in a ceiling, or behind a rack or in a junction box that may never be opened again. Pride in your work is what you show where you think no one else will look. Sadly, a dying attitude and nearly impossible to teach the millennials we’ve had…
