It's totaled by the insurance company because you are unable to repair the car with the mandated safety devices installed on the car set by the DOT!
I am not making this shit up
I was seriously in the market for a 550/575
My thoughts is find a wrecked one and buy the air bag steering wheel along with the ECU and your safe in case you get in a minor fender bender and the bag goes off
When the bag goes off the ECU triggers it

Forget the ECU, even one of the airbags is not available from Ferrari.

Clyde…

I can understand that the OEM Air Bag ECU may not available, but are you saying that there is no fix possible?

How is it that the entire automobile is totaled?

That doesn’t sound right to me, but I do believe that your knowledge of things Ferrari is accurate.

I’ve got a 2005   575M F1……. so naturally, you raise concerns.
