I've heard of these tips before and it does work.
The only one I'd be hesitant to do would be to stick one sheet with the owner's manuals. These dryer sheets have chemicals in that fabric and I'd be concerned if they'd leave oils and other residue on the surface, damaging the paper and plastic laminated covers of the books. I keep my owner's pouch in a Zip-Loc bag.
Besides, I like that "old-book" smell mixed in with leather...

I received a long list of things that are helped when a sheet of Bounce (a brand of Dryer sheet) is used for purposes it was not marketed to do. Here are some car related ones some of you might find helpful since some of us let out vehicles "Sleep" for parts of the year. If you decide you'd like the full list send me a note and I'll send them... 2. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle. 3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often. (like your vehicle docs).
12. To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat. 22. Wet a Bounce sheet, hose down your car, and wipe love bugs off easily with the wet Bounce.
