Not to mention with the LaFerrari not just anyone could buy one - Ferrari had to "choose" you.  There were a lot of loyal multiple Ferrari owners upset about not having the chance to buy one.  Now anyone can - if they bid enough.

Regardless if it's 499 or 500 (or really, 534...), most of the owners of these cars won't drive them anyways and will make a tidy profit in a few years.

At least in this case, the proceeds are going to something which should help the people who've suffered from that devastating quake.
