| The shiny new thing market has moved on, you need the Aperta to be considered cool.  Or sue if you don’t get one…

Not to mention with the LaFerrari not just anyone
could buy one - Ferrari had to "choose" you.  There were a lot
of loyal multiple Ferrari owners upset about not having the
chance to buy one.  Now anyone can - if they bid enough.

A lot of collectors buy the first and last of a
model, as they have more inherent value then all the others.
When your "last" is now second to last that affects value.
Not saying it's not going for a great cause, but this has been
an issue in the high end collector car world before.  Esp with
the Jaguar XJ220 - what was promised wasn't delivered ... and
lawsuits and returned deposits were the result.  The XJ220 is
just now coming back in the collector world on value ...

Still hasn't hit me this car has 950 horsepower. Haha.

It's no secret that Ferrari has
built more cars of previous Ltd Ed models than they
said they would. I can't remember the models off the
top of my head, but some of the current ones.
 Regardless if it's 499 or 500 (or
really, 534...), most of the owners of these cars
won't drive them anyways and will make a tidy profit
                  in a few years.

At least in this case, the proceeds
are going to something which should help the people
who've suffered from that devastating quake.
